Progress…..
Slowly but surely the walls are reaching the sky…..well, they’ll never reach the sky really. In fact they’re pretty much as high as they’re going to get…..Why not do the whole wall you ask? This is australia - there is no need to have ten foot insulated walls. Plus - I’m really not interesting in getting mud any higher than my waist.
So once these bad boys are filled up its off to patching the spaces with old cans and getting my hands even dirtier by massaging those black beauties with mud.
Today is Wednesday and I promised myself I’d be finished with these tires by the end of the weekend…..Goal reachable!

My first official tip run was a success……Digging through a pile of crusty old cans and swatting away the flies has no affect on a woman with a vision…
Free Stuff!
No Turning Back…..
My mind often works like a fast forwarded game of the early 90’s Sim City…..this means, I’ve always got building on the brain….I dream of tables to tanks, cupboards to castles, window seats to waterways……and for several weeks now I’ve had this “earthship” being constructed in my head. It was all talk, often met with disbelief and worry. Yet I pledged it would happen, it must happen….tick tock
Something you should know, many of these unbegun creations never actually take form - they sit on a sketchpad and hope to one day find a life of their own. And it is not until I reach in my pocket and hand someone cash that any of my visions are able to resemble a shape.
Alas, it has happened - $35 and four bags of concrete later I now have TWO stable beams securely fitted in the earth and surrounded by used tires. There is no turning back - it is on!
Next step: find some cans, find some more tires, find some more money, buy some cement, mix it with some twigs, and fill up those empty tires.
Until then……keep dreaming

I will be out on LI at a wedding (which I can 100% guarentee wont participate)
BUT before i leave i will unplug every outlet in my apartment. Because even if its not turned on, its still using energy just by being plugged in.

Ladies and Gentleman…..or the few people following me on here…..
I HAVE A MISSION……mission loveship
I’ve decided to dedicate my TUMBLR to documenting my adventures in building what can only be described as a loveship - A spin off of the tree hugging creation known as an earthship. Its made from old tires, mud, straw, recycled bottles and cans…etc.
About 60 feet from my sister’s house is an old chicken coop (yes there are still chickens in it refusing to lay eggs)….set out from the coop are big beams already stabilized in the ground….and nearby is an old beatup caravan looking for a new life. All of these things along with my blood sweat and tears will soon become a home.
These next few months I’ll update this page with photos, articles, and stories concerning my latest endeavor….
